The mission of the Middlesex Beautification Committee is to enhance the overall visual appearance of our community and the quality of life in our town.

Our programs include:

  • Homes of the Month program
  • Holiday Homes program
  • Summer Flower program
  • September 11, 2001 remembrance ceremony
  • Boro Holiday Lawn decorations

"Homes of the Month" Showcase Exceptional Handiwork

The Beautification Committee’s 'Home of the Month' Program has selected the homes pictured here as August’s honorees. It is gratifying to see so many homes showing tender loving care and pride. It is no easy task to select winners.

In addition, residents may view these pictures in the current “About Our Town” newspaper.

Middlesex residents are encouraged to nominate any home with exceptional flowers, shrubs or landscaping in the front yard. Please email your suggestions to prepenn@hotmail.com, or nlavery00@gmail.com. Also, please include the address of the house you are nominating and your phone number in the message.

  • December 2017 - Holiday Edition

    Middlesex is aglow with holiday lights! We want to thank those residents who offered nominations – it makes our job easier! Look for the “Middlesex Home of the Month” sign at each house pictured below. Congratulations to December’s winners! You may also view these photos in the “About Our Town” newspaper, January 1, 2018 edition. Our Homes of the Month program has concluded for this year. We will return in the spring to select homes with exceptional flowers and shrubbery.

    If you are interested in becoming a member of the Beautification Committee, please submit your name to the Mayor. Once a member, you may help with Homes of the Month, the September 11th Memorial Ceremony and providing flowers to the Borough’s Route 28 and Police Department planters.

  • October 2017 - Halloween Edition

    The Beautification Committee’s Home of the Month Program has selected the homes pictured as the October 2017 winners. One home captured our attention with the haunted graveyard theme, lights and sounds. We have published two photos of this home. It is wonderful to see residents showing such pride and creativity in their displays. It is no easy task to select winners! Additionally, residents may view these pictures in the current “About Our Town” newspaper.

    Middlesex residents are encouraged to nominate any home with exceptional flowers, shrubs, landscaping or seasonal decorations in the front yard. Please email your suggestions to: nlavery@gmail.com or call 732-469-7317. Include the address of the home you are nominating and your name and telephone number in the message.

    As the summer months fade away and we quickly move into fall we still have beautiful flowers and shrubbery in bloom. The Beautification Committee has selected the following homes as Homes of the Month for September. They are either nominated by members of the community or selected by the committee for their attractive flowers and/or shrubbery. Look for the "HOME of the MONTH" sign at each of the houses pictured below. Congratulations to this month's winners!

    The Homes of the Month program will now continue with fall flowers and decorations for Halloween in October and Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanza Decorations in December. If you would like to nominate someone’s home for October please e-mail nominations to: prepenn@hotmail.com or call: 516-644- 9940 before the 10th of October. Please include the address of the house and your phone number in the message.

    As we transition from Summer to Fall there are still beautiful flowers and shrubbery that show the pride our community takes in their properties.

    There are many homes worthy of recognition and this month the Beautification Committee has selected the following homes as 'Homes of the Month'. They are either nominated by members of the community or selected by the committee for their attractive flowers and/or shrubbery. Look for the 'HOME of the MONTH' sign at each of the houses pictured below and view these pictures on the Middlesex borough website at www.middlesexboro-nj-gov.
